Slingsby Nipper HB-SPN also changed hands ... I bought it!
This Nipper has been stored at Martigny in Switzerland for over 20 years. When the owner told me he wanted to sell it, the negotations started.
Bringing a Nipper from Switzerland to Belgium wasn't as easy as it seems because Switzerland is not part of EEC.
After some weeks of doubt, we finally received green light and so we drove to Sion on 29 April 2007.

Little was known about this Nipper, but after reading though the aircraft's logbook all became clear.
HB-SPN was mostly flown by the first owner Mr.Rithner from his home-airfield Bex. During the four years that it was active, it flew only 105hrs and made 194 landings.
The last flight was made on the 11th November 1973 by Mr. Rouge. Afterwards it was dismantled and stored.

The wing still has the original canvas on it but the fuselage has been stripped. The Rollason engine is also complete, but hasn't run in 35 years.
It is now stored at my house pending restoration to fly.
The registration HB-SPN was cancelled on 25 April 2007 and it will be registered as OO-WBR soon.

Tipsy Nipper G-ARBP was damaged when it ran away without pilot at Seighford on 07/10/06.
The pilot was hand-swinging the propeller, but the engine was accidentally set to 1800rpm.
In combination with the wet and muddy ground, the chocks moved away from the mainwheels
and the aircraft started to move. It came to rest after striking tree branches and a fence post.
The leading edges of both wings and the propeller were damaged.
The pilot was not injured.
