Willem Jos Yvonne Rongé was born at Borgerhout in Belgium on 21/06/1988. He's the youngest son of a family with 2 children, he has one sister, Annelies. He lives with his family at Schoten near Antwerpen. At the age of 10, Willem started going to fly-in troughout Europe together with his father. Raymond Cuypers is a friend of Bob Rongé, Willem's father. That's how he saw his first Nipper. Willem got his hands on Raymonds book the 'Tipsy Nipper Story'. Inspired by this book, he started research to keep these histories up-to-date. During his research he got in contact with David Beale, owner of Belfair G-APIE. They met at the Old-timer fly-in at Schaffen. Thanks to David, Willem made his first flight in a Tipsy on 17/08/02. During 2006 Willem became a member of the 'Aeroclub Brasschaat' and started gliding at Brasschaat. He made his first solo flight on a Let Blanik OO-ZJQ of the 4th of August.
